Fur Squares!
Where can i get FUR SQUARES! I've heard that from Charr Hides you'de be able to salvage Fur Squares. I have killed hundreds of Charrs but they don't seem to drop Charr Hides!
I cannot remember where the collector is who changes something for Fur Squares... does anyone remember? thx! |

Actually, it's 4 Char Hide = 1 Fur Square.
I went farming last night in The Breach and picked up the 44 necessary Char Hides for the 11 Fur Squares that I needed. |

Char Hides drop more frequently at higher group/character levels.
BTW - The collector in ascalon only requires 4 hides (not 5). Best advice is to join a guild and get freebies if your looking for some quick fur. |

You can get fur squares from charr hides and other hides using the expert salvage kit. The return is about 1 in 10, in my experience: one fur square for every 10 hides.
If you have the cash, it's worth it to experiment with the expert salvage kit, because all sorts of things yield all sorts of things. For instance, I've pulled runes from blue items that never indicated I'd unlocked a rune. |

Best way to get furs is to hire a farmer, like me...I'll go to the Breach (outside Piken Square) and hunt Charr all the way to the Flame Temple and back...even sell them to you cheap (well under typical asking prices)...I get plenty of gold from drops, so I usually make as much scavenging as I do farming....I only pick up unidentified items, gold, and items that are stackable in the inventory (charr carvings and such)...typical run produces about 15 fur squares, takes 2hrs and grosses around 3 platinum including 100 ea. for furs...also, typically 4-5 dye drops (seem to be mostly silver and purple for some reason)...Basically, I ask how many fur someone needs when I see WTB and ask if they are willing to wait while I farm...even if they decide later they don't want them, I still end up with easy cash...Keep in mind I'm running a lvl 20 ascended Ranger with a bear as my tank (he doesn't take any drops like henchies). Some might see it as a waste of time, but when all is said and done, I won't be short on funds when I go get my new armor...plan ahead.

My two cents:
Ascalon City Collector: 4 Charr Hides for 1 Fur Square Get all type of hides and expert salvage them, you have 1/12 of getting 1 Fur Square. |

i happened to salvage 12 fur squares from 5 maguuma hides from the maguuma jungle/wilds region.
if you really need fur at that stage of the game, i think the return on time invested is somewhat better..
